Cold water therapy benefits

I decided to try a sea dip for my birthday 2 years ago! since then i have been on MANY! here are some of the things that cold water therapy can help with. I will be making plenty blogs on how to stay safe in the water and top tips for doing it :) Read my first one below to look at the health benefits from cold water therapy.

Cold water swimming is so good if you suffer from mental health issues. It clears the mind and makes your body focus on breathing. It can help with things like :

  • bad circulation - cold dipping helps to get blood flow going. 
  • sore muscles - it relieves sore muscles by reducing inflammation
  • Mental health - cold water therapy helps to boost endorphins in the body to make you feel a bit better.
  • It gives your immune system a boost.
  • lowers stress - giving you time to get back on track and feel good!

After my first time i loved it and carried on doing it throughout the year. I love feeling free in the water, the first few minutes when you first go in is obviously really cold. But if you breathe through it slowly and deeply then the coldness goes away! 

This is one of the best things i have done for improving my mental health. The boost i get afterward is great, i am able to think more clearly and when i am down, going for a dip always changes my mood and gives me the boost i need
